Scotland needs our help
Reply by Sept 30, 2009

Morvern is the home of several of our important symbols, Kiel Church and Kinlochaline Castle. It is a small rural community, and they have been having mail problems. The Clan MacInnes community came to help when the sawmill was going to be installed, potentially causing disruptions in the area. That project was rejected do in part by our email campaign. Iain Thornber, local historian, has asked for our help again.

For the US people, this is an interesting way of doing business with the government. This is an email petition, and can be completed in under a minute. You do not have to have an email address, so you will not be contacted if you fill it in. There is also a blog site if you wish to further comment.

The petition reads:
Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to make representations to the Post Office plc to review all postcodes in Scotland to determine the adverse economic and social costs misleading postcodes have particularly on rural communities in terms of the late or incorrect delivery of mail to businesses, increased insurance and pension costs, access to public services and the general misleading and confusing nature of a postcode which does not properly relate geographically to the area.
